Responsibilities:

  • BIM Standards and Protocols:
    • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of BIM standards, protocols, and workflows in accordance with project requirements and industry best practices (e.g., ISO 19650).
    • Ensure project teams understand and adhere to established BIM execution plans (BEPs).
    • Monitor project models for compliance with standards and quality.
  • Model Coordination and Management:
    • Coordinate the exchange of BIM models and data between internal teams (architects, engineers, construction managers) and external consultants, contractors, and clients.
    • Manage and maintain the project's Common Data Environment (CDE), ensuring proper organization, access control, and data integrity.
    • Perform model audits and quality checks to identify and resolve discrepancies, inconsistencies, and errors.
    • Aggregate and federate discipline-specific models into a coordinated project model.
    • Manage model linking, updating, and version control.
  • Clash Detection and Resolution:
    • Conduct clash detection analysis using BIM software (e.g., Navisworks) to identify spatial conflicts between different building systems.
    • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to review clashes, propose solutions, and track their resolution.
    • Facilitate clash resolution meetings and ensure effective communication of issues.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Facilitate BIM coordination meetings with project teams and stakeholders to discuss model progress, address issues, and enhance collaboration.
    • Act as a point of contact for BIM-related queries and provide technical support to project team members.
    • Promote effective communication and information sharing among all project participants through BIM processes.
  • Technical Support and Training:
    • Provide training and support to project team members on BIM software, workflows, and best practices.
    • Assist in troubleshooting BIM-related technical issues.
    • Stay updated on the latest BIM software, technologies, and industry trends.
  • Project Documentation:
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of BIM project documentation, including BEPs, model progress reports, and clash reports.
    • Manage the archiving of BIM models and project data at project completion.
  • Model-Based Deliverables:
    • Assist in the extraction of information from BIM models for various project purposes, such as quantity take-offs, cost estimation, and scheduling (4D/5D BIM).
    • Support the creation of model-based deliverables, including drawings, visualizations, and reports.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), Construction Management, or a related field.

  • Proficiency in industry-standard BIM software, including:
    • Authoring Software: Autodesk Revit (essential), ArchiCAD (preferred), etc.

    • CAD Software: AutoCAD (beneficial).

  • Strong understanding of BIM principles, workflows, and standards (e.g., LOD, COBie).
  • Knowledge of architectural, structural, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems and their integration in BIM models.
  • Familiarity with construction processes and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse project teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
