Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Interior CAD Draftsman with a minimum of 4+ years of experience in interior design drafting. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in AutoCAD and proven experience developing accurate technical drawings from concept design through detailed design, tender, construction, and shop drawings. GCC interior design or fit-out project experience is preferred.
The candidate should have a strong understanding of interior construction, materials, finishes, furniture, joinery, and technical detailing, along with excellent coordination and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and coordinate MEP BIM models (HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection).
- Review architectural and structural models and identify coordination issues.
- Perform clash detection using tools like Navisworks and prepare detailed reports.
- Work closely with design teams, consultants, and site engineers to resolve clashes and design conflicts.
- Prepare and update coordinated shop drawings for construction.
- Assist in implementing BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and ensure compliance across the team.
- Participate in coordination and design review meetings.
- Maintain and update BIM models throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide setting-out information and installation details to site teams.
- Manage and track RFIs, drawing logs, and model updates.
- Assist in creating Revit families and setting routing preferences for MEP components.
- Incorporate design changes and ensure models are updated accordingly.
- Ensure timely delivery of BIM outputs as per project schedules.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow.
- Support site inspections and ensure models reflect actual site conditions.
Technical Skills Required
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Ability to prepare detailed interior design and fit-out drawings.
- Strong knowledge of interior construction methods and detailing.
- Good understanding of materials, finishes, furniture, joinery, ceilings, partitions, kitchens, and wardrobes.
- Ability to develop technical drawings from sketches, concepts, and design presentations.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Knowledge of construction and shop drawing requirements.
- Strong drawing coordination and revision management skills.
- Good understanding of CAD layering, standards, file organisation, and documentation.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and dimensional coordination.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Civil Drafting, or a related field.
- Relevant technical drafting or CAD certification will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience in interior design drafting.
- Proven experience developing drawings from concept design through detailed design, tender, construction, and shop drawings.
- Experience in interior fit-out, residential, commercial, hospitality, or retail projects is preferred.
- GCC interior design or fit-out project experience is preferred.
- Previous experience working closely with architects, interior designers, contractors, consultants, and site teams is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple drawing revisions and project requirements.
